Counting Our Blessings

Counting our Blessings is a scripture-based resource designed for flexible use in accompanying families in homes, parishes and schools. It is part of an ongoing invitation from the Church to talk about our life experiences and through gentle engagement with Scripture grow in awareness of God's presence in our lives. Using 'everyday' language, each Counting our Blessings session explores a real question in family life.

Family Prayer Cards

Please click on the image below to be taken to Family Prayer Ideas. Below is an example of one of these activities.

The prayer cards below can be used in a variety of ways - print the cards, cut them out and stick them back-to-back or use the uploaded file on your device.

Light a candle.

Make the sign of the cross, ask everyone to close their eyes and be still for a moment.

Invite each member of the family to choose a prayer card - they are numbered 1-20.

Take turns to read the scripture reading, followed by the prayer.

Ask the family is there anyone else they would like to pray for?

Finish by praying the 'Our Father.'
