What experience does Val bring to the Governing Body?

  • Val is a retired NHS Superintendent Radiographer.
  • Val ran her own business as a therapist and trainer, teaching students who won national awards.
  • Retired in 2009 as a qualified Further Education Team Leader and College Lecturer.
  • Val is a retired member of Institute of Leadership and Management.
  • Val’s two daughters and a grandson (currently Keystage 3) attended St Peter’s School. Her daughters, having had a good start in education, at St Peter’s, went on to achieve at University and have successful careers.
  • Nana Val to eight grand children, so still very keen on present and future standards of education; keeping children at the heart of all the improvements we make in our school.
  • As an active Parishioner of St Peter’s Parish for almost 40 years, currently a member of St Peter’s Parish Council, a reader at Mass and a member of the Living Christ Retreat organising team, Val has full commitment to St Peter’s School, considering it to be an important part of our community.
  • Val regularly attends Governor Training sessions and forums; Warrington Director of Children, Young People and families briefings; Liverpool Catholic Archdiocese Chair of Governor's briefings.
  • Visits school to keep up to date with life in St. Peter's and takes part in monitoring of school progress.
  • Val looks after some of her younger grandchildren after school.
  • In her spare time, she is a volunteer with Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside Wildlife Trust and is a keen member of Warrington U3A Family Histirt Group. Through much research, Val has uncovered a wide and varied, interesting family history back to the 1500's, which she is writing up for her family.
