Year 5 Spaceport Trip and Assembly
On Tuesday 29th January, Year 5 visited Spaceport as part of their Science topic. They had the opportunity to visit the Planetarium, where they learnt about our Solar System and how we explore it, as well as thinking about the possibility of life elsewhere in the galaxy and universe. Year 5 then took part in a workshop where they discussed the effect of gravity and how we need thrust to break free from it. They then had to pump a rocket as high as they could - some of the children managed to hit the roof! The class then had the opportunity to explore Spaceport and make notes of what they had learnt, to help with their learning back at school.
