Year of Prayer
In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year 'Pilgrims of Hope', we have been asked to participate in a year of prayer in 2024, with a focus on the Our Father.
'Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when He finished, one of his disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray..." '
Luke 11:1
Prayer is spiritual communication between man and God, a two-way relationship in which man should not only talk to God but also listen to Him.
Prayer at St. Peter's to celebrate the Year of Prayer
In Sing and Praise, and in Collective Worship, we sang the Our Father.
During our Mission Day, we visitied various Prayer Stations around the school. (Please see our Mission Day tab for further information.)
Year 4 took part in a retreat at St. Peter's Church with the Chaplain from Cardinal Newman Catholic High School.
Warrington Catholic Schools shared PowerPoints with a different prayer focus from each school. These have been used for our Collective Worships.
We have continued to use our school Prayer Bags, with children sharing their home worship on SeeSaw.
Staff have written prayers for our staff prayer jar. These can be utilised for staff Collective Worship during staff meetings.
We have introduced prayers with a focus on each Catholic Social Teaching.
We have a whole school prayer display about how we pray at St. Peter's.
