Home Learning

During the mandated closure of St. Peter's, we would still like our children to be provided with opportunities to learn. Below you will find work that can be completed at home that Miss Bedworth has prepared. All learning links to what the Year 4 children have been learning in class. Paper and books will be sent home for children to complete their work on, or please feel free to print the sheets off at home if you have access to a printer. If you complete work on paper please be aware you may need to write out sentences/calculations, etc that you see on the screen to be able to accurately complete the task. (SPaG Mats, etc.)

Week 1:

All work can be completed in the books/ on the paper sent home. Please do not feel the need to print anything out. If you do wish to print resources, please feel free.

Reading Plus - 2 comprehensions and 1 vocabulary activity to be completed daily.

SPaG Mat - 2 per week (Answers on PDF)

Maths Frame - 30 minutes per day

TT Rockstars - 3 times per week, 30 minute each session

Arithmetic Test - 2 per week (Answers on PDF)

Times Tables Tests - 2 per week

Maths:

Please complete 1 topic subject off the Maths Home Learning Pack per day. The topics are split into 3 abilities, D = Developing, E = Expected and GD= Greater Depth. (The letters are in the bottom left corner of each page.) The majority of children should be able to access the Expected level. If they are finding the work too easy/hard, please go up or down a level. Answers are at the bottom of each PDF, please mark with your child once they are complete.

Writing:

This work can either be written or typed. If you write your work, please take a photo and upload it to SeeSaw. If you type it, please save the document and then upload it to SeeSaw.

  • Recount of a past event of your choosing - make sure it is written in past tense and think of the language features we have learnt in class that I would like you to use.
  • Film Review - 1 to be completed (Please see resources)
  • Persuasive Letter to Mrs Lea about something you would like changed within school.
  • Poster to promote being environmentally friendly - Don't forget to include persuasive language and facts!
  • Instructions on how to wash your hands.

Science - To be completed (Please see resources) Please either take a photo of your work and upload it to SeeSaw, or upload any documents you produce.

Computing - Please visit the Hour of Code website linked below and complete at least 1 activity per week. Feel free to investigate different activities at different levels until you find one you are comfortable with. The instructions are linked on the site with the activities. Please take a screenshot of any completed activities and upload to SeeSaw.

Music - Compose your own song which is at least 20 seconds long that can be used when you wash your hands. Please take a video and upload it to SeeSaw.

Spelling Frame - 1 test/activity per day

French - Please explore the linked website

Come and See - Easter Activities to be completed across the two weeks.

  • Diary entry linking to our Good Shepherd Day, Circus. Explain what we did and any thoughts and feelings about the day.
  • A short story on a subject of your choice. Don't forget to include speech, description, pronouns, clauses.
  • A Newspaper article - Pretend an alien has landed at school - how did people react? What were there thoughts and feelings? How did the experience end? Don't forget to include an eye-witness quote!
  • Setting description - Please describe one of the pictures included in the resources below. Think about the language you should use - make the descriptions interesting.

Geography - To be completed (Please see resources) Please take a photo of any work and upload it to SeeSaw, or upload any documents produced staright to SeeSaw.

Computing - Please visit the Hour of Code website linked below and complete at least 1 activity per week. Feel free to investigate different activities at different levels until you find one you are comfortable with. Art - Paint/draw/take photos of nature. These can be as artistic as you see fit. You get inspiration from a walk with your family. Please either take a photo of your work and upload it, or upload the photos straight to SeeSaw.
